As human trafficking prevention and anti-slavery advocates from all over the world meet in Los Angeles to discuss the severe issues of abuse to humanity, and determine various ways to stop trafficking and abduction, international parental child abduction prevention advocate Peter Thomas Senese points to major flaws in the North American \'Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative\' as a major policy flaw that enables human smugglers to continue their illicit and widespread activity in the North, Central, and South America. Peter Thomas Senese, and advocates at the I CARE Foundation call for the modification of WHTI policies including the mandatory requirement for all children traveling abroad by land, sea, or air to present a valid passport. Under present WHTI policy, a minor under 16 traveling by land or sea is presently required to present a photocopy of their naturalization papers, thus making international child abduction and human trafficking easily possible.
